Medical Nutrition Therapy, often abbreviated as MNT, is an evidence-based medical approach to treating chronic conditions with an individual specific nutrition plan designed and managed by a registered dietitian. MNT can be the most effect way to prevent, reverse or minimize the associated complications of chronic conditions, such and Pre Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes and obesity. MNT is a covered service for most all major insurance programs including Medicaid and Medicare.
Kim can help eliminate or lessen symptoms of heart burn, constipation, diarrhea, bloating/gas, weight loss or weight gain, fatigue, skin problems, chronic unhappiness, and poor sleep using nutritional approaches such as FODMAP diet, food elimination, and thoughtful supplementation. Kim has 20 years of experience working as Pediatric Nutritionist with families who have children with complex health care needs such as premature birth, neuromotor disorders, failure to thrive, food allergy, developmental disorders, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has built collaborative teams that bring together primary care providers, gastrointestinal specialists, developmental specialists and feeding and swallowing specialists. Kim Lovely is a registered and licensed dietitian. Her education includes a Master’s Degree from The University of Michigan, Clinical Nutrition Residency Program from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Mount St. Vincent University. Kim has been a practicing as a pediatric nutritionist and wellness nutritionist for 20 years. She has provided specialized nutrition to children with special healthcare needs and their families statewide, and has a reputation for being able to bring together an effective team of collaborative health care providers.

Adult and Pediatric Medical Nutrition Therapy by a registered dietitian or nutritionist is covered by most commercial health insurance plans and Medicaid/Medicare. Kim accepts and direct bills Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Health Care Inc., Cigna, Tufts Health Plan, and WellSense Health Plan. Prior to the visit you may contact your insurance company to determine if nutrition services are covered, how many visits are allowed per year, and if a co-pay is required. Before the visit please request an insurance referral from your primary care provider so that visit will be covered.
Insurance co-payment, if required, will be billed following visit. Additional options for payment include; payment in full at the time of visit by check, cash, credit card or Health Savings Account (HSA)/Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Kim can provide an itemized insurance claim form If you prefer to pay for the service and submit for reimbursement from insurance or if you need evidence for use of HSA/FSA.
Prior to your visit, relevant health information and nutrition concerns will be collected to make the most of the first visit. The initial visit will likely take one hour. During this visit Kim will:
